This workshop will trigger your experiences and creativity by inviting you to investigate visually Sharjah's cultural identity. During this workshop participants will be encouraged to explore the rich culture of Sharjah through decoding its visual narratives using memory. Using illustration, typography, and collage among other forms of expression, you will be invited to recreate an experience you have of the city using Design. Join this workshop and explore Sharjah, differently.
OUTCOMES: Printed Posters and/or Postcards and/or Murals.

Participants are required to have basic skills any design software, and to bring their own laptops/tablet to the workshop.

Dr. Shaima Elbardawil:
is a Jordanian visual communication practitioner, researcher, and educator. Dr. Shaima received her Doctorate (2013) degree from Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham – United Kingdom. One of her research interests is the exploration of the essential visual communication requirements for various types of users with specific focus on those who belong to various cultural backgrounds. Cultural representation and signifying practices have been central to her practice,research and education philosophies throughout her career.
Zena Adhami:
U.A.E. born and raised Graphic Artist, currently residing in Dubai. She received her MFA in Design Communication from Califor nia College of the Arts in San Francisco. She has worked in Publishing and Design in Dubai, and co-founded several publications in the Middle East. Adhami taught and practiced Design in Jordan, Dubai and San Francisco, topics such as: Typography, Creative Arts, Publishing and Design Psychology. Her research interests in Design are in the areas of Design as an experimentation, and Designing Memories.
