This event is part of the National Pavilion UAE – la Biennale di Venezia’s public program titled “Home: Food | Music | Sports”, a series of events developed by artist and writer Hind Mezaina in dialog with the curatorial theme of the National Pavilion UAE’s current exhibition, “Rock, Paper, Scissors: Positions in Play”, exploring how food, music and sports contribute to building a sense of home and community.
About John Dennehy
John Dennehy is a journalist with The National newspaper in Abu Dhabi. He previously worked at newspapers in Ireland and the UK. His book: In a Time of War: Tipperary 1914-1918 was published in 2013.
About Hind Mezaina
Hind Mezaina is an artist and writer from Dubai. Her work delves into themes of collective memory, the notion of heritage, and the representation of Dubai and the UAE in the media. Her work is a continuous development of what she describe as a ‘visual archaeology’ through research, observation, collecting and preserving memories. Her work can be found on www.hindmezaina.com. She is also the founder of www.theculturist.com and co-founder and co-host of Tea with Culture podcast.
